Food and drink

Italians are exceptionally proud of their culinary culture, and here in Marche you will discover that food is not just food – it’s a passion. There is no fast food here, only slow food. If you head out to the beach early in the morning, you can see the fishermen coming in with the day’s catch. This will be served for lunch or dinner the very same day.

Restaurants

There are a number of good restaurants to choose from. The closest ones are:

  • Ristorante La Grotta di tufo
  • Locanda La Cerasa
  • Cucina dialettale da Rolando (specialises in truffles)
  • Ristorante in 7 Archi
  • PerBacco Countryhouse

Our favourite is II Chiostro dell’avis, which is located in Mondolfo, in a vault cellar. It’s usually very busy, so remember to reserve a table ahead of time. You will probably be the only tourists, but the staff speaks English.

Wine

The closest vineyard is about 400 metres from the house, and is called Bruscia. www.brusciavini.it.
The other vineyard is called Guerrieri. www.aziendaguerrieri.it.
Both vineyards are open to the public, and the owners are very friendly. Stop by to taste the wines, and if you’re lucky, you may get to sample food from the evening menu.
